Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American chef-turned-tv personality, as well as a former teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her spiky, blond locks as well as her pumped up personality, provides simple techniques that anyone can be able to master. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants that are located in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy and competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and eating at young age. She pursued her love of the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after earning a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute during my time at The Culinary Institute of America she states. There was no way to be able to learn about, practice or do all the things I did. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian style of living and the culture and it has had an impression on her perception of food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children facing problems. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for an awareness campaign on children with diabetes. as a speaker, guest and mentor, she travels all over the US to talk about her culinary passion and career. Anne stated that she felt privileged in that she could share her true passion with many others.
